Webinar Description
This presentation will review and discuss new resources available for pediatric providers on how to initiate genetic evaluation of common pediatric conditions, such as developmental delay. Resources include a genetic testing algorithm and information on informed consent and privacy laws. Resources for families include information on basic genetics in English and Spanish, and an explanation of variants of uncertain significance.
Outcomes/Objectives
At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to: 1. Gain new strategies to diagnose developmental delay, discuss genetic testing with their patients and families. 2. Identify new resources to assist in working with families to obtain informed consent for genetic testing. 3. Identify new resources to assist in explaining the results of genetic testing to their patients and families.
