Project ECHO Nevada Presents: Genetic Testing for Healthcare Professionals

2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month • 8–9 a.m.
Beginning: Wednesday, May 22, 2019

This short series will focus on Genetics for Health Care Providers. We will address the areas of DNA sequencing, Cancer genetic screening, newborn genetic testing, and the practice whole genome sequencing. Please join us for this new and unique series!

Guest speakers will include:

  • Nathan Slotnick, MD, PhD, MA, MS. Dr. Nathan Slotnick is a Perinatologist at Perinatal Associates of Northern Nevada and Medical Geneticst at Cancer Genetics Risk Assessment.
  • Susanna Sorrentino, MD. Dr. Susanna Sorrentino, a specialist in genetics, has joined the UNLV Medicine Pediatric Center. She comes to Southern Nevada from California, where for two years she was the Valley Children’s Hospital Director of the Cancer Genetics Program and Director of the Cardio Genetics Program. Valley Children’s is an educational affiliate of Stanford University.
  • Andrew Gorzalski, PhD, MS. Dr. Andrew Gorzalski is a Laboratory Scientist at the Nevada State Public Health Laboratory.
  • Keith Kikawa, Ph.D. Dr. Keith Kikawa is the Statewide Biosafety Officer at the Nevada State Public Health Laboratory.
